About WazaLearn

WazaLearn is an app that helps you learn judo techniques through interactive video quizzes. We value your privacy as much as your judo training, so we only collect the data that's truly necessary for the app to work properly.

What data do we collect?

Personal data (for your account):

• Email address - for registration and login
• Password - encrypted storage
• Username - to identify you
• Country code - such as "NL" or "BE"
• Club name - optional, for club leaderboards

Usage data (for your progress):

• Quiz scores and progress - to see how well you're doing
• Belt color and promotion status - your judo level
• Leaderboard rankings - for club, country, and world rankings
• Video synchronization data - checksums to verify your local videos are up-to-date

Technical data (for app functionality):

• Network status - to warn you when you're offline
• Local video files - stored on your device for offline use
• Video sync notifications - to show progress of video synchronization and allow background syncing

How do we use your data?

For app functionality:

• Account authentication - to securely log you in
• Track quiz progress - to see which techniques you already know
• Leaderboard rankings - to compare you with other judoka
• Video synchronization - to ensure you always have the latest videos
• Club changes - when you change clubs

For communication:

• Email verification - to verify your email is real
• Password reset - when you forget your password

Data storage and security

Data transmission (HTTPS encryption):

• HTTPS/SSL encryption: All data is encrypted during transmission using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols
• Forced HTTPS: Our production servers automatically redirect all traffic to secure HTTPS connections
• Database encryption: All database communications are encrypted using Azure SQL Database encryption

Locally on your device (encrypted):

• JWT tokens - for secure authentication
• Login credentials - only if you use "Remember Me"
• Video files - stored locally for offline use

On our servers (Azure):

• User profiles - your account information
• Quiz results - your scores and progress
• Leaderboard data - rankings of all users
• Password security - passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• JWT authentication - secure token-based authentication system

Data sharing

We only share your data with:

• Yourself - your own profile and scores
• Other users - only your username and score on leaderboards

We NEVER share data with third parties.

Your rights

According to European privacy law (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Delete account - you can completely delete your account
• Change club - you can modify your club
• Verify email - you can confirm your email
• Reset password - you can reset your password
• Clear local data - by deleting the app

How to delete your account

To delete your account and all associated data:

1. Open the WazaLearn app
2. Go to the About page
3. Tap on "Contact Support" tab
4. Tap the "Delete Account" button
5. Confirm your decision (this action cannot be undone)

What data will be deleted:

• Your account profile - email, username, country code, club name
• All quiz scores and progress - your learning history and achievements
• Leaderboard rankings - your scores will be removed from all leaderboards
• Video synchronization data - checksums and sync status

What happens to your data:

• Immediate deletion: All your data is permanently deleted from our servers within 24 hours
• No recovery: Once deleted, your account and data cannot be recovered
• Local data: Video files stored on your device will remain until you delete the app

Alternative method: If you cannot access the app, you can also request account deletion by emailing us at info@wazalearn.com with your username and email address.

Why so little data?

WazaLearn has a very low privacy impact because:

• We only collect necessary data
• There's no tracking or analytics
• We don't use third-party services
• Local data is encrypted
• We don't share personal data
